Alexandria Day Tours
Have you ever thought about Alexandria day trips? The city named after one of the most prominent historical figures of all time, Alexander the Great. Alexander the Great is thought to have founded the city back in 332 BC. This city was once known for being the center of knowledge and culture exchange in the ancient world. The city itself and its world renown museum/library attracted some of the greatest scholars of their times. Sadly, the city lost most of its appeal when it was plundered and the Library of Alexandria was burned to the ground. This library was known for containing some of the era's most advanced knowledge. Thousands of papyrus scrolls and books which contained invaluable knowledge about the world, its culture and advanced technologies of the time were lost forever. It is widely believed that Julius Caesar was responsible for the destruction of the Library and the city as a whole. Most scholars agree that the library was probably destroyed when Caesar's army started a fire in the year 48 BC. It's hard to calculate exactly how much knowledge the world lost in this tragic incident. Luckily, the library has since been rebuilt and the books and scrolls that survived can be viewed in the New Library Of Alexandria. Apart from the library, there is plenty more to see in this beautiful city so check out our tour packages and decide which one is the best for you.
